President Buhari's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, and his colleague, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, received the newspaper's team and assured the team of their support to ensure the success of the newspaper.
The Presidential Spokesmen praised the quality of the newspaper and urged the Management and Editors to maintain the high editorial and professional standards associated with the personnel in the team.
Adesina said the press has a crucial role to play in the country's development and progress and urged the newspaper to be fair and balanced in its reporting. He said the national media landscape was big enough to accommodate more quality newspapers like The AUTHORITY, thereby also providing jobs for journalists.
"I am very happy every time a new quality newspaper comes up. It helps to create jobs for our people," Adesina said.
In a similar vein, Mallam Shehu also welcomed the arrival of The AUTHORITY newspaper and thanked the Management and Editors for their visit to the Presidency.
Indeed, Mallam Shehu said the team's courtesy visit to the Presidency had cleared any misperceptions that people may have had about the motives of the investors behind the newspaper.
"We shall be there for you. Everyone has their space – and their roles to play," he said.
