I will decamp from APC with Buhari – Shehu Sani

At the wake of reports alleging plans of defection from the All Progressives Congress, APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, has affirmed that he would continue to be with the ruling party as long as President Muhammadu Buhari remains a member of the party.
Sani made this known on Sunday in Kaduna after he commenced the distribution of 100,000 transistor radio sets in seven local government areas under his senatorial district.
He said the gesture was to raise the political consciousness of the people and enable them have access to information on what is happening within and outside their localities.

“We come from the part of the country where the major and most important source of information is the radio. “Radio is an empowerment, a form of education and enlightenment.
”It enables people to have access to information and also have an opportunity to express themselves.”

The comrade senator also dismissed allegations made by the Kaduna State chapter of the APC, indicting him for anti-party activities and claiming that he was planning to cross-carpet to the PDP.
Recall that the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the APC in Kaduna state, Salisu Tanko Wuso, had stated that the suspended senator was working assiduously with members of the PDP in order to undermine the APC leadership and the government of the state.
Reacting on his earlier suspension, the comrade senator noted that the suspension has been invalidated by the national body, advising his supporters to stay calm and avoid any form of attack and counter attack.

According to him, he would remain in APC as long as President Buhari is still in the APC, “because Buhari is APC,”

“I have instructed all my supporters and followers to abide by this, but unfortunately, some people are capitalizing on the crisis for their own monetary gains.
“I am saying it in clear terms that as far as I am concerned we would abide by what the national body says.”

He said as Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign and Domestic Debt and also Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, he would continue to push for the return of Nigerian loots stashed in foreign countries and encourage the fight against corruption.
