Obasanjo You Wasted $16bn on Power Supply Yet No Electricity, So Don’t Advise Buhari – Na’Abba

One time Speaker of the House of Representatives under ex – President Olusegun Obasanjo, Na’Abba has stated that President Buhari should ignore any advise from former President Obasanjo.

He made emphasis to an event in 2015 where the former President Obasanjo led a delegation of experts to present a strategic development report to President Buhari, on various sectors of the Economy.

The former speaker described this as a joke, highlighting the issue of power where he accused Former President Obasanjo of spending $16bn without anything to show for it. Na’Abba remarked as follows;

“The other day, I watched on television

Obasanjo’s emissary handing over documents to Buhari on power infrastructure developed by his think tank, an action that made me laugh profusely. How could someone who spent $16b on power without achieving anything when he was President bring a proposal on that matter to anybody! While I would not advise Buhari to repay Obasanjo in his own coins, I would advocate that he should not allow him to be distracting him”

 Obasanjo-Buhari-adviseHe also dismissed Obasanjo’s think tank report on Security saying that it was preposterous for Obasanjo to bring experts from Colombia, a country which is still battling insurgency to come and assist Nigeria.

He also warned President Buhari to learn from how OBJ dealt with former Presidents Umar Musa Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan who didn’t subject to his control. He said Obasanjo was an enemy of Buhari, recounting Obasanjo’s probe of Buhari and the PTF in 1999;

“I was, therefore, baffled when, in 1999, Obasanjo, having become the President, became determined to embarrass Buhari over his headship of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF). He instituted probe after probe to find faults with Buhari. Unfortunately for him he did not find anything. Indeed, he personally harassed and interrogated Buhari. I was in the government, so I know all these. He went on to disband the PTF in spite of the important infrastructural projects being undertaken by the body, against the advice of some of us.” he said.

Ghali Na’Abba is a foundation Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member who departed for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), and returned to the PDP and finally dumped the PDP shortly before the general elections for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
