WHY SOME RIVER STATE STAFF MAY NOT BE PAID


Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike had thanked civil servants for their support and prayers while the litigation against his election lasted.
He said 27th January every year wiould be observed as public holiday in commemoration of the supreme court ruling that affirmed his election.
He described those who rig elections as armed robbers and should be treated as such.
The governor informed of an overhaul of the ministry of works that was used as conduit pipe to defraud the government with over-priced, non-existent and abandoned projects.

Governor Wike said only staff with BVN will be paid salary as a measure to check ghost workers problem.

He said there are about 52,800 staff in the state civil service, assuring that all leverages would be plugged to ensured that workers salaries were not owned, and services are delivered to the people.
