FC Ifeanyi Ubah stadium, one of world's best, says Obiano

The Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, yesterday described the Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium and Games Village as one of the best of such in the world, comparable to Wimbledon Stadium in the United Kingdom.

Speaking shortly after inspecting the projects at the stadium, the governor urged FIFA to come for inspection of the stadium as it has the capacity to host international competitions, pointing out that the stadium can comfortably seat over 20,000 spectators.

Obiano challenged other Anambra investors to emulate Ifeanyi Ubah and bring their investments home to prevent a case of 'had I known' should any eventuality occur, noting that the security in Anambra state now
guarantees safe investment.

He pointed out that it will be a great opportunity to empower the youths and other groups in the society if other affluent individuals put up the kind of project the oil merchant is setting up in Nnewi.

"We are satisfied with what Ifeanyi Ubah is doing here and we are saying without fear or favour that the stadium is of international standard, comparable to what is found in Europe. The hotel that will be here is first class; we want more of this investment, I am happy."

He commended Chief Ubah for the tremendous support he is offering his administration.

Chief Ubah while welcoming the governor to the stadium noted that the administration of Obiano has secured Anambra State where investments thrive and are protected without fear of men of the underworld.

He urged the governor to continue the good work as the people of Anambra State are solidly behind him.

"It is not by mere imagination that you are winning numerous awards but by reason of quality governance. Continue the good work. I have said it times without number and in numerous fora that Willie is working," the Capital Oil Chairman and publisher of The AUTHORITY said.

Referring to the project, Chief Ubah said: "We are building all these so that anybody that enters Anambra State will know that we are setting a standard."

The governor at the occasion inspected the projects in the games village including the industrial park, women and youths development centre, Royal Capital Blue Hotels, conference centre and Ifeanyi Ubah stadium.

Chief Ubah and Gov Obiano kicked off the novelty match between FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) team before unveiling the prototype games village.
